Data Monetization and The Big Data Monitization Gold Mine

Data is good.  Big Data is better!  Little data has an urge to grow into Bigger  Data.  It just does. The bigger it is, the more it is worth.  It is a gold mine.  Maybe more like printing money.

Thar's gold in them there data, boys!  Get me sum!

This is a Wikipedia explanation of Data Monetization.

How does Big Data get so big?  The originating owner has some.  Maybe among other originating owners the have more or most in their data sector.  How to get more?  One way is to share withing the sector.  For example, the License Plate Recognition sector.  The sector that uses License Plate recording devices and offers the data base of License Plate location information for sale to users like the vehicle repossession industry.  Or, to anyone else interested in knowing where and when a given license plate number was recorded.

An investor comes along and says to the individual businesses competing in the license plate recognition market:  Let's you and him get together and make me some money.  You each have a geographic portion of the USA  and even where you overlap there are just too many License Plates moving around for any of you to record with your cameras.  You only really compete when you are taking a picture of the same license plate at the same time.  That would be total market penetration and saturation and you are all a long way from that.

Investor says to each and every significant LPR harvester:  Let's put it all together in one big data base under the name of a single business service provider and split up the proceeds.  In addition, we will cut out the little wannabe big players that think they can buy the equipment, maybe franchise them and make it one big family.  Just remember, keep it all in the family!  Get the picture?  When anyone wants LPR data they come to me and our LPR Big Data.  We gonna get rich!  The government wants a lot of this stuff.  It is a cash cow for all of us.  We can own and dominate the market.  Charge all the traffic will bear.  That is what domination is all about.  I have a software package that will put all your LPR information together, it is called aggregating, in one place for your customers to go to.  We will split the money in the back office.  Its all in the family, youse guys.

Consider the downstream business opportunities when we partner up with other Big Data business intelligence sectors.  All put together, Big Data Business Intelligence will be the NSA of the business world for profit.  It is the NSA business model.  Everyone knows that free private enterprise can do anything better than the government......when we own the regulators!

Look at Facebook.  It owns a big data base and is mining it for all it is worth.  When a business is so big in a given sector how does it grow?  Partner up with other sectors, become their associate in business and therefore permit privacy information to be legally shared with partners.  It says so in the privacy statement that users agree to.  All legal.

That is what Facebook is doing now and it is a pivotal move.  This is a web link that reports that move.

"SAN FRANCISCO, June 12 (Reuters) - Facebook Inc is expanding the internal user profiles that underpin its targeted advertising system, for the first time including personal information based on activities that did not occur within the boundaries of its social network."

Big Data just wants to grow!  This link talks about how it is going into offline information about people combining it with their online shopping.  Acxiom claims 3,000 data points on nearly every US consumer.  Axciom Partner page is hereAll the usual subjects!

The bigger the better!
