Naming the Ball

In a prior post (insert my link here when I find it in this blog) I amused myself by giving the name GAD (God Almighty Dollar) to the new digital, serialized dollar bill.   There was a relationship explanation given for the selection of this name.  In God We Trust.

Selecting the name GAD for the new digital dollar, while amusing and perhaps even appropriate in the conceptually spiritual sense is dangerous from a practical point of view that says this introduces an entirely unnecessary controversial factor to the system concept.  A different name would be better.

How about this?: DAD.  Digital American Dollar.  Again, the concept of fatherhood except this name moves the nature of the fatherhood down a notch from Fatherhood to fatherhood.  Do you need an explanation of what I mean?  This name also introduces a controversial factor.  A different name would be better.

Both names suggest a parental role in the genesis of the dollar.  The first being Genesis, the second being genesis.  An Object Oriented System Structure is built on Parent/Child relationship and inheritance.  ParentClass having all the attributes that ChildClass inherits, ChildClass having those attributes plus more that make it different from any other ChildClass.

Perhaps MOM?  Like in Mother Earth?  The problem is that I do not immediately come up with words to fit this name even given the most obvious, appropriate word clue: Money.  What is a good word beginning in O?  Then M again?

A bi-partisan name?  Two part binary name.  The DD? Digital Dollar.  Not of course a word, (yet) just two letters.  However it does express the idea of common parent object analogous to Man and Woman both belonging to (children of) the parent Class Human Being.

I kind of like it.  DD.  It is simple.  Two D's.  Both entities are D.  Double D.  D twice. One is Digital the other Dollar.  It would be implied to be an American Dollar but the implication would not be explicit as in DAD and therefore avoid the connection of the the symbolic letters with the word symbol "dad" that we define with the word symbol "father" or "Father" if you are an "In God we Trust" type person.

Call it a DD and let everyone connect it to whatever belief they may have.

Perhaps a popular vernacular association.  Might as well have some fun with our money.

Financial Unit Currency.  FUC.  Perhaps this has some intrinsic beauty.  In my proposed system there are two primary objects.  The Digital Dollar and the Owner of the Digital Dollar (Dollar Owner or DO.  The primary rule is that every DD must have a relationship to DO.  Every DO must have a unique identifying number (as every DD must also have).  This is a mandatory exclusive one to one (instance of a class to instance of a class) relationship.  Together they make a financial unit representing a certain relationship and an associated ability to perform some action between them.

An amusing thought that has great potential for development but I will leave that to Jon Stewart.  Calling it either a GAD or a FUC draws fire from both ends of the spectrum!

I am really warming up to DD.  It gives people to freedom of choice to make free associations on a philosophical level extending to the great meaning and significance of the concept and purpose of our conceptual monetary unit.

I will simply call it the Digital Dollar.

Sorry, Kels, I know which name you would choose.

I just thought of another name for money in my proposed system:

DAM.  Digital  A..... Money.  OK.  What fits that starts with an A?
