Vote For Military Spending On Your Tax Return

I propose that as a final step in submission of Income Tax returns an opportunity be given to enter a percentage of tax payed that may (or may not) be spent on military related spending.

It is just a straw vote.  It really means nothing related to actual spending.  What it does is give a relative money weighted and gross percentage public opinion vote to everyone submitting an income tax return.

When all returns are processed the government would release data describing the total of Income Tax collected and the total percentage chosen to be devoted to military spending as well as a categorical distribution of individual total tax payment amounts and associated percentages.

Individual choice of percentage is unrelated to how much an individual may actually pay in Income Tax.

Just for info.  A simple thing to do.  What might the result reveal.  Some degree of public opinion.  Maybe add the next 3 biggest categories of government funding as well.
