TSA New Security Measures

New measures from TSA today at this link.

It applies to flights to the USA.  Electronic devices must be powered up.

The surveillance tactic is so obvious.  Powered up devices transmit wifi, bluetooth and cellular signals.  Detecting these signals and the unique data they transmit can be associated to an individual with that device by spoofing them to connect with a sniffer and identify themselves.

My guess: Signal sniffers are probably in use by TSA at all airports.  Next step is probably to apply the new security measure to US airports.

This prior post looked at device/owner/holder identification at airport security points:  TSA Wifi and Bluetooth Device MAC Address Sniffing While You Wait in Line - Cancelled--Really?

This report of cell phone tracking,  probably to "enhance the airport experience" calls the tracking the first application of tracking of this type in a US Airport.
