I was attempting to recall a web site that used a search term entry to a graphic network entity relationship map to present related entity relationships. The best I could come up with in my files was the ICIJ Offshore Leaks Data Base.

It is a specific example of an application that presents business entity relationships in a network map. What I was looking for was a broader business entity searchable data base displaying this same generic network map. Like a google for registered businesses listed at a public accessible site. I recall there was one, or something like it, but can't find it now. I can find many sites that offer this type of business entity information for a price.

This link tells how to find small business registration info. I have been to the Oregon files of registered businesses before. Evidently the entities that are selling business entity data base info are probably getting much of it from public records. That is free public domain .gov or .state info that is merely packaged up and a price tag put on it by a .com. The general type of info available from public records is legal in nature and required by the government.
