Compelling Images

Written a couple weeks ago held as draft until today

My old printer crapped out just when I thought I needed it most but being old school has its advantages!  So does being old and been there, done that and got the T-Shirt in the old school.  

I love adventure and all of you the most.  The adventure like the Road to Kona never ends!  

It ain’t over till its over! Jeanette said the next day after is the first training day for the next one.  

Her inspiration rests in waters at the start and in my heart.

I had trust and confidence I could do it at 50.  Did it and validated that trust in myself and the volunteers that support us.  They are there for us the whole way.  My family was there to support me.  Nameless volunteers were too.  On the PCT they call them “Trail Angels”.

Angles are watching over me in Bend.  

A Band of Angles are a Band of Brothers or a Team of Search and Rescue. 

Strange that when I slipped on ice at Pilot Butte andI broke my leg.  The couple that was there were first to help me.  They had on backpacks and said they wear them hiking up Pilot Butte for training.   

Someone recently asked how I happened to get to Bend.  The story I like to tell but only now can see it better.  So many things are all telling me the rest of the story in a strange sequence of images.  I had not watched this movie for a long time. I saw it in 1957.  14 years old and had read a lot of science fiction books.  I is not about aliens or science fiction.  It is about an inner compulsion to seek and find the truth, the challenges and obstacles placed in the way of finding it.  The false branching presented that to draw us down a branch to nowhere.  

The greatest obstacle in finding the truth appeared as an image to me and I wrote about the Tower of Babel. The division of people on earth to speak different languages that fail to communicate.

A common language is emerging In the Information Age.

We have so much to learn by self teaching by exploring like Fremont did.

Was he drawn to Bend to  explore the wilderness by same image we were?

You know that the best seat in my home is the left side of the sofa.  I enjoy bringing others into my home and the two things I enjoy most about it.  The inspiring view from the deck and the view from the sofa I invite them to sit on as the best seat ever.  I had to cut limbs on the tree to see it better.  I wanted to make the original deck larger.  Then I put in drive way and parking area in the back.  Am I expecting a crowd?

If you build it they will come!

There are no compelling images in the mid west except corn higher than an elephants eye.  But compelling images have the same intrinsic power.  

The most compelling image of all time is placed on a hill called by different name then than we call it now.  It is at the same place today that remains the crux of the division of concepts as well as languages.

The collapse of Twin Tower is a moving image like a past sinking ships in harbor.  

A succession of paradigm sifts has hit me in the last month.  Many of them or maybe all of them were related to bridges that divide us separate us also join us.  On Nov. 11 I stood for a long time looking at names there.  And the meaning of failures to communicate.  

Signs

Signs are everywhere.

We need a better definition of terms in our own English Natural Language and an least ambiguous translation to all other languages.

A few derive benefit from conflict in which others pay the price.

Some die and others make a killing.

The power of a few to divide is threatened by the power of the truth and those that seek it, design systems based on the a binary physical and conceptual truth and create a system with liberty and justice for all are a serious threat to them.  That is true in Bend, Deschutes County, Oregon the USA and all Nations.  Stealth, Deception, Sneak Attacks on places and concepts poorly defended with no IFF early warning to detect the threat and counter it serve their purpose.  IFF and If and only If just linked to my surprise!

Public data files that did not talk to each other failed to protect the nation.  

Public data files in Oregon are the sources of citizen protection from our own  fail to provide protection because they are because they exist in so many various places.

Moved so fast I did not even go back to correct mis-spellings that would have slowed speed syntax ore even reducing my fuzzy logic to clarity for any reader to see.  I saw the clarity and intent.  Said what saw as best i could.  Wordsmith and Conceptsmith it later.  Some will see it and Adequacy is sufficient all else is superfluous.

A couple days ago I saw this Osborne 1 at Habitat for Humanity.  It was my first computer! Adequate at the time but soon superfluous as a device but in its conceptual heart a building block of the World Wide Web.

When we speak in terms of agreement we understand the the spoken language of agrement  in precise  terms that convey precise coneptul meaning that creates precise conceptual structures.

The Tower of Babel is all about linguistics.

What we have here is a failure to communicate!

The Information Age is all about communication to create conceptual structures like we built things in the Industrial Age.   We built precise machines to go to the moon.

The Information Age is a period of designing and building conceptual structures that will take us far beyond the moon to ....??????  A place beyond it.

A Place Holder that is like the beauty of the space in an unformatted bowl that becomes formattted by precise agreement among all of us on what......the The terms of agreement are beginning at a ....////

come on....don\'t quit.   Never quit.....at the binary level.

Present/Absent meaning and definition of terms built upon them.

Wen it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck it is a duck.

Can we all agree on that?

That is what I saw going out that dream state door upon awaking from sleep to reality this morning.

My sleep patterns have definatly shifted.

We have build a machine that links physical and the reality of conceptual sructures we have created that have in the time line of history been difunctional and produced dysfunctional results as a fucntion of ambiguity of the terms of reference that were different silos of data, and information.

Concepts created until the Information age....gettin down a new brance here...that lead us down a better patch linking agreement on the dfinition of terms of meaning we define amongst us all.

Codex translates the ambigiity of self governance law and adminstering law in the name of law to the extent that it is .......being used by the few that benefit from skinning our collective selves We The People.

Our fatal flaw is that we do not see the truth.

Truth is is written with a big "T" . if it is written as a small "t".  it can be anything any one wishes it to be, believes it to be and convinces others to be.

We speak many languages in the world.  Lost is translation introduces ambiguity of the slip between the cup and the lip.  We have the tools of machine translation Artificial intelliganence bu there is nothig artificial about the nature of its intelligence in  a Parent Child View.

Perhaps the beauty of the Moon is that everyone in the world sees the same moon in a single night from where they are GPS positiponed.not in real time.   Over the span of eternal now  night time ast the world turns we all see it.

When we all see the move traveling in orbit over time and al have agreement on the terms of reference that meaning that there is no ambiguity of going to the moon then.....

This is where the beauty of the more precise language of numbers leaps to the more precise language of music:

I'll be looking at the Moon but I'll be seeing You.  A reflected image or Image?

You is each of us, all of us collectively as human beings.  Those that choose? to see beyond themselves  the inner You  in themselves and all others on faith have personal terms of reference and their relationships that are mearly a higher level application of... our worldly terms of reference that are good enough for all of us to agree to.

Those worldly Terms of Reference are what we examine and when we all agree to what the are we abide by them in a state of peaceful co-existence.


When terms of reference are written in different languages can be entered on computers in all the different languagles of the world and translated to the same common conceptual meaning then we know that we are getting where we want to go and are all searching for..

Socrates by any other name is Socrates.  The Socratic Problem is solved by creating a platform for all to contribute structured file data that is by definition public from many different data source public silos that are linked  in the most precise language of numerical values to their conceptual higher order meaning  expressed any given Natural Language.

Many have stood on the shoulders of Giants to enable each and all to make and add a brick by creating systems that provide each and all of us to contribute a brick to the structure.  That same system filters out the past and present contribution of any and all that bricks that that did not contribute or undermined to a bigger purpose of the structure.

Some stood on the other side of the barricaded bridge with riot control water cannon.  Their weapon to douse the flame in  brave hearts of those on the other side with water they defended as sacred.  An effective weapon to kill flame as well as lives in sub zero temperatures.

The Department of Revenue  Forestland Special Assessment Value 0f $79.38 per acre 2018-19 that you certify to all County Assessors for application all Eastern Oregon Forestland on property tax rolls tax perpetrates an injustice upon Oregon taxpayers.  

I know about war and restoration of justice.  Peace was not my profession.  My profession was restoration of justice denied .   A civil society in which government derives its power from the consent of the governed.

Vigilant defense and maintaining a system to attack when justice is violated restores it.  

The certified value is what I intend to attack because it is unjust.   I certified things that I judged myself on and only recently resolved.  It is a very difficult thing to play a defined role in a system.  A good system with critical flaws.  

The Forestland Special Assessment value must stand the test of judgement on the facts.  Those facts are found in every Property Tax statement sent to every property owner. They all have an individual right to appeal their own tax bill for review and judgement.  Any taxpayer, depending on public records available on the internet, may examine the tax record of any and all other taxpayers.  Other records may be obtained as necessary and managed in accordance with privacy rules.

Property Tax Classifications have different property values based on fair reasons in law and administration.

Some categories property ownership and purpose do not pay any tax for valid reasons.  Others pay reduced rates for various officially  approved reasons based on Special Assessments.  Table 7, Assessor Sal report presents total values of all Special Assessments.

Private benefit of property tax reduction at public expense is based on public consensus that the private recipient of the benefit should receive it. All other taxpayers without a Special Assessment pay an incremental amount to offset the private benefit. 

All property tax collected in a county is revenue in an equal amount distributed to tax districts to fund public services. That is.where fair tax based on fair Assessment becomes revenue to our public services.

This is where the $79.38 per acre Forestland Special Assessment Value you certify and therefore authorize for county assessor tax computation requires examination and judgement.

That the Forestland Special Assessment intent  fair in its application that is certified?  

 Is it legat? Absolutely,  By some hidden perversion of twisted functions based on law.   

Is the result unjust private gain at public expense?  

I only present the facts of intent and result.  

What went wrong?

It is a loaded question.  You will not, nor will anyone in the entire chain of making and administering the law upon which it is based answer that question.

The fault is not in our system of governance by consent of the governed.

We the People of Oregon voted for our best choices to represent us and serve us.      

The only way it can be answered is that it is the law.  Where is it?  Go to an ORS or a measure or whatever.  That is the reason for unjust operation of our system of government?  Voting against our own self interest?

Why do we do that?

The law says that this Certified $79.38 Forestland Special Assessment value is certified to be legal.  Do you certify it to be just?

There is a difference between and Oath of office and a Code of Conduct by those that hold that office.  In Public Service that  Code is not based on law but on the ethic principals of those that serve our own City, County and Country government that serves us all.  Each and every citizen can fill in the specific names of those levels.

I took an oath to serve many times.  Each time it was a honor to advance based on my dedication to a Code and its values.  Code is not a demanding Law.  

You just happen to be in that unenviable position of certifying it.  

Of course it is unjust.

Has anyone in the entire Oregon Government that serves us ever taken a stand on a Code of personal responsibility and accountability that calls for action on this violation of tax justice?

I took the Oath to Serve. Serving with Honor is a Code of Conduct.

The Military Code of Conduct has changed over the years.  I memorized it.  lived by it.  The final code remains the Code of those who have served continue to serve serve in accordance with a code of conduct as Americans.

 Article VI:

I will never forget that I am an American, fighting for freedom, responsible for my actions, and dedicated to the principles which made my country free. I will trust in my God and in the United States of America.^[3]

Is this the best that public servants in our government system of a Department of Revue can do?

Essentially that is the final most critical question that I ever rarely asked of those for whom I had responsibility and accountability for performance of their duties.  The same question I continually asked myself and demand of myself a true answer in self judgement.

It either motivates those that live the same code to do better.  The flip side of that is shame that they cannot measure up.

I did ask the question very few times.  It is only asked when it is positive motivation of leadership responsibilities not to demand performance but inspire it.
