Women's March Bend Oregon

Big things need planning, strategizing, organizing, logistics.  It is all related to event production but this event is not sitting on the grass at Les Schwab.  It is live and moving over many blocks downtown.  It needs some mobile audio media and fixed video maybe mobile video camera streaming.

Maybe the next Women’s March needs more music.  Maybe a special KOPV radio tune list for the day of the next Women’s March?.  Everybody has a cell phone.  But would the digital signal sync the music to all cell phones?  Maybe an opportunity for fund raising?  Messaging by various community services?

The idea flashed itself during the march and I talked about it with a few people walking with me.

I heard music on the streets of Bend during the last Women’s March at various points.  Old times from the 60’s that inspired many of us then that still do for the many that were marching again.  In between were the sounds of silence and a few chants.  A great march needs music.  Playlist chants?  Inspiring out takes from historical speeches? Jokes, humor, etc..

There is an abundance of local talent participating in the March to develop this idea.  Might you be in a position to offer site streaming?

Your Eye on Bend will reach a large audience.

I graduated Navy bootcamp in 1962 to this Pass in Review tune:  I always liked it.  Until now I did not know its history!

Wildcat!  Some of the other tunes here might pertain but there are a lot more play list candidates for the next march.

Iconic movements and National events from the past had their music to inspire.  The Women’s march had them and more.  I marched in 1961 to a time that has a history of being better related to what women are marching for today.  And I will hope to march to it with them now.

Might your new system and cameras stream the next Women’s March downtown?  Switching to some live camera views maybe?

It is a political statement March.  Something to be considered regarding whatever…….but the tech aspects are interesting..  Every city has the same application?

A mass march social media thing that has maybe already be done somewhere?
Haven’t searched that yet.

Maybe a special event downtown thing like Cruise In.  Criterium, Pet Parade….
Christmas etc. ?

Public events elsewhere in town that have appropriate mass music playing on personal cell phones?

There are so many obvious creative social media  apps for new tech.  Social media is mass media for streaming any time/place event with music or commentary that otherwise would be loud speaker.

I’ll do some search terms to find some ideas.

Tech feasible?

I think Bend Broadband has a wifi access feature for customer access anywhere around town.  No idea how many have it.  Maybe they could turn it on as a public service for all BB customers.  Win/Win for promotion.  Include paid targeted appropriate audio marketing and public service messages appropriate to the Women’s march.

Otherwise different cell providers might have lead/lag differences in transmitting KOPV app audio?

There were loudspeakers at the shell in Drake Parks but central source at the stage did not broadcast well to the large attendance at the distant edge.
