The way to destroy any physical or conceptual structure is to remove the core foundation upon which it is built. Then it falls down.
The strategy is to chip away at the foundation focused on the single most critical supporting thing at the core, the key to the strength of its structure. Castles are caused to crumble by digging under their foundations. Concepts as strong as castles are no different. When they fall it is with a crash.
For example: One person, one vote. That foundation can also be viewed as its weakness when framed as the tyranny of the majority. A collective citizen "Will of the People Vote" is framed as requiring some restraint to counter the underpinning upon which Democracy is built. Our formalized public governance system is structured on a three part check and balance of power. Our governance system is built on the simple elegant concept of the Consent of the Governed. Then it gets complex in design to implement the conceptual foundation of governance.
The physical world of Nature is a complex system that governs the existence and interaction of things with natural laws in a check and balance from the most granular level of physical properties to the collective Object level of the Universe. The Universe = Everything in precise language of math expression in the Physical Domain. Non-Physical Domain? Maybe it exists to check and balance the Physical Domain. Maybe not. That is neither here not there depending on belief.
In the real world of human existence and its total social structural complexity the same model of the natural world applies and we have given that model a conceptual Object Model a relationship description of: One to One, One to Many and Many to Many. An excellent way of looking at all abstract or real things in the Information Age. An age when machines we create as tools give us better ways to look at things in systems becoming more rigorous and less ambiguous increasingly approaching likeness to the model on which Nature operates.
It is a continuing Social Experiment.
It looks to me like the Problem Domain of our great Social Experiment to Promote the General Welfare rests upon a precise Object relationship foundation the same as Nature. One to One, One to Many and Many to Many. Just a new way of looking at things that is re-framing extension of legacy old school view expressed by "From Many One".
A nice sounding framing of Object Relationships but conceptually ambiguous? No, not so much it relates two Objects: Many to One. That encompasses all Object:Relationships from the One:Top singularly unique conceptual identity to the Bottom:Many collective conceptual identity. The framing is in terms of what exactly. What is the data element dictionary of the collective "Many" and the Singular Unique Instance of the collective One?
Here is the hole in the middle of the conceptual progression of One to Many and its corollary logical truth: Many to One: The big hole in the middle is the Object:Relationship Many to Many.
That big Object Relationship hole between the purely Human:Singular:Unique and Collective Human:Collective:All is our ManyToMany Domain:Problem to solve.
There is only one discretely unique Object:Human and one discretely unique collective Object:People:All. There is an infinite number of possible collective ManyToMany Parent:Many to collective Child:Many abstract levels of relationships in between the TopToBottom or BottomToTop.
How to design a Fit:Best SystemSocial in this Problem:Domain:HumanExistence?
We have a unique Tool:Universal:Intelligence:Human:Unique. That intelligence historically produced a progression of physical tools and an increasing number of abstract conceptual tools (like language) for us to use. The Age:Information is a progression to the next age. Age:Intelligence where we will be as smart as Nature in structuring the best System:Operating:Human:Social for the Common Good.
Machine intelligence is merely an extension of our own intelligence in the form of an object tool for creation of a better society.
Or not.
Depending on an increasingly fewer number of collective Information Age experts to design and implement systems balancing the common good with private gain. The incentive of the Private Domain is not the Common Good.
Collectively we don't understand our own system of governance. A subset does and are experts using it for private gain at public expense.
Collectively we don't understand the the systems of the Information Age. A subset does and are experts at using them for private gain with possible benefit to the public ranging from rip off to sharing to selfless contribution to the common good. Collectively the public does not now how it all operates well enough to distinguish the good guys from the bad guys.
General Public Ignorance and the number of people that don't know how things work in the Information Age is growing at rate inversely proportional to the number of those that do understand how things work in the Information Age and have intelligent understanding of the language of the Information Age and its application to creating complex machine systems that shape our society that depends on a general idea that each person maximizing their utility in pursuit of their own self interest benefit society as a whole.
It don't work that way when the leverage of a tool in the hands of increasingly few extracts the greatest benefit to the few that designed an extremely complex extraction tool operated by increasingly few for their their self interest extreme benefit without a balance of contribution to the public sector common good in a zero sum game.
Perhaps the Information Age will be one seen as what followed the Peak Public Intelligence Age. As the complexity of system exceeded the ability of the general public to understand them as informed citizens.
The tyranny of public power of people voting their best interests has always been the greatest fear of the few with self endowed power. They used to crown themselves by proclamation. Now they self endow themselves with the power to design and control extremely complex Information Age systems to control both the Public and Private sector that the General Public cannot begin to understand.
The way to gain ownership of the castle is not to get it by removing intelligent logic and reason foundation. All that is gained when it falls down is pile of rubble. The elegant way to get possession of it is to cleverly replace its reason and logic foundation with one of Ignorance. Ignorance of how things work and therefore who they work for at the expense of the general welfare.
Trump is proof of Peak Collective Intelligence (a relative thing) Passed. He is just a moron idiot king posing as the One from Many at the top chosen by a slim margin of less than the majority of all citizens that voted as a representation of the Will of the (Collective) People" at the bottom to which the complexity of the political system gave the office of President.
Naming with the exact opposite of what it isn't is a clever way created recently to disguise what the thing in truth really "Is".
The name of the next Age epoch in a long progression of ages to the Industrial Age followed by the Information Age will likely be the "Intelligent Age". The age describing the Intelligent Few at the controls of our Social Systems. For the majority, the 90% or 99% depending on sector of measurement it will be the Ignorance as function of not understanding the system devised by few to rule the many. The relatively few beneficial owners of things and power in our society that we can't even identify.
The core feature in the design of our social systems must be to at least identify true beneficial ownership to the human entity owning things of substantial wealth. Good for them but how did they get that wealth and a what cost/price of just distribution of wealth and power to serve the common good.
A Blockchain system of proof of anonymous wealth in any form and source as well as contribution of a just portion of wealth for the common good is a foundation for a restructure of our governance experiment for a better system. When anonymous wealth accumulation exceeds established norms of return to the common good then there is probable cause to investigate.
Blockchain is a trust system that the common citizen does not have to understand. It is intrinsically trustworthy by design, by a chain of proof. The more we apply it to every aspect of our social systems the less ambiguous they will be in design and application. The more firm will be the foundation of trust upon which our society is founded.
