Knowing where I stand now in terms of conviction and looking at the prospects for action things don't look so good.
There are too many people in media, government and religion whipping up the forces of shallow minded ignorance. Recruiting the thugs and their goons with hate, and fear. Wrapping themselves up in the flag, God and country. Spouting lies and deception, obscuring and avoiding the truth by changing the subject to one of emotion, not reason. Doing all of this so well that they get their followers to pledge themselves to fight their own self interest.
ON THE OTHER HAND:
That exact situation might be the greatest opportunity for change.

There is hope!
If we are intelligent and guided by our true higher principals and beliefs the truth will triumph.
