This essence of this blog entry was born in the prior entry and continues it as a future hope appropriate to Christmas Eve.
I have needed heroes ever since I was a kid who was taught in
Catholic school about the hero that saved the world born this Christmas
Eve to fulfill his mission of redeeming a debt placed upon us.
My need for heroes has influenced my life. Since Vietnam my heroes have only had a human nature. Not so much the big "H" hero. That, of course is why a little "h"
hero was created by another Empire. The big H can take care of
herself. She exists in a different world that may or may not exist.
The
world is still in need of saving and it is essential to remember that
in the binary duality interceding nature of God and man it was the man as son of God that saved the world. There is no God that will save us from the Empire, just us.
In
the most abstract conceptual frame maybe Christmas is not the
celebration of an event long ago but a renewal of hope that this year
might be born this Christmas Eve the person that will save us from
ourselves?
Maybe this is the year? There is no shining star so far away to guide us to the place of birth but there is a full moon.
Hope is a concept anticipating the conceptual and real goodness of a better life to come. In this world and for those that believe in another higher one then the next. It does not come in swaddling clothes but is a spark born deep within our heart. Maybe the spirit of Christmas is the spark born this night that lights a fire of a dream at a dark time.
I think the miracle of Bethlehem was the birth of a concept conceived by a singularity of spirit. It is the concept of Peace on Earth to People of Goodwill.
The Power of the Dream
That is the power that confronts the power of the Empire that was the focus of the prior post. It was the power of a single person long ago. The power of a unification of people of Goodwill today but I really don't have any idea how it will happen.
Just the hope that it does.
Much of the source of power that can confront the Financial/Political/Military/Media power (and use of Power of Fear) held by the Empire today (example) and the few that control it comes from those that hold conceptual values in tune with Higher Power. I can unite with them, at least those that conceptually see the logic and reason secular truth based seamless worldly conceptual path leading through personal door to the beyond that they believe in but can march in unity with those on the same path but ends at that door. We are conceptually on the same path in the frame of real time. It is the same problem domain in the real world as they truly walk the talk toward theirs.
For example: I could walk the same path and talk the same talk of this framing of the nature of things. Is simply a framing from the point of entry of what is beyond the door of time where I frame it from this side of the door. What is the commonality between faith and fact? On the other hand judging from the comments we better depend of a few powerful people of "Good Will" to challenge the Empire and turn the tide. A rainbow coalition of a majority will not.
Maybe the commonality is when they acknowledge and share the same point of entry to the problem of existence in the real world in real time. They just take it one step further on faith?
On Christmas Eve I must be an optimist. No joy to the world otherwise.
No room the Inn for you, not even a stable. Was there some factor of timing in the publishing of this news report?
There is almost the ring of a Berlin Airlift (the driving purpose of the airlift as well as its singular purpose on Chistmas day) to this report of churches giving refuge to deportees.
