He programs his algorithms in object oriented code. He explains how he discovered the costly error he had made in his code using a simple high level object oriented model which I extracted from the video. He is an object oriented programmer. Obviously he would explain the problem using an object oriented model.
This is an excellent example of managing an objects in a model, their attributes states and behaviors at a high level as well as Use Cases to produce a process outcome. The object model Hiam used had all objects standing in line to proceed in sequence. The real model gave priority based on a flag object and its behavior based on its code.
Control the object mode design and you control the process. There is no secret that domination of any system depends on controlling the object model of things. Grab it by the things and the processes will follow. Design the things to be grabbed and you have total control of what the system is and what the system does.
Regulators that must discover what a system object model is by the clues of what it does don't stand a chance of regulating anything.
This is the fundamental truth about money as well as money as well as market trading models.
If Hiam had access to an Open Source High Level Market Trading Object Oriented Model created using UML or other Object Oriented Modelling System, he would have known the object relationships and behaviors. That is what object oriented programmers look at to produce their programs. An SEC regulator would probably not recognize a high level object oriented model if it bit him in the butt. Of course it will not do that because it is something locked up in a safe. Open Source? That would be like leaving the bank vault open. The Object Model is a Top Secret Weapon.
